Review of Silent Hill (2006) by Zoë H — 23 Aug 2011
I am an avid Silent Hill fanatic, I've played almost every game and for the ones I haven't I've read through the plots and characters countless times. When I saw the movie I thought it was an interesting mashup of many of the games elements.
Such as the story revolving around Alessa who is in almost every other game, characters that have several appearences like Cybil Bennet, Dahlia Gillespie, even Christabella who is actually another version of Claudia Wolf ( Silent Hill 3).
They even include well known monsters such as the nurses, straight jacket, and of course even Pyramid Head. If you know the games then the story might be a little more clear than for those who don't which was probably the reason it wasn't to popular.
The game did not have the same scare factor as some of the games do but it still kept the macabre and dark feeling throughout. I do have to say though for a videogame adaptation it was better then the countless attempts they've done to Resident Evil.
