Review of Silent Hill (2006) by Drlowdon — 23 Apr 2014
Rose travels to the abandoned town of Silent Hill in search of answers to her daughter's mysterious sleepwalking and, following a traffic accident, the pair are separated resulting in a desperate search through the deserted streets of the town.
The special effects and CGI are suitably creepy and really evoke the mood of the video games and overall everything is well directed making for some fairly interesting scenes.. Unfortunately however, despite far too much exposition and explaining of back stories, the plot doesn't make much sense and isn't particularly interesting anyway (something which is even more frustrating since the second video game in the series has a pretty decent storyline) meaning parts of Silent Hill can be a bit of a chore to sit through.
Some horror fans may enjoy it but In the end this is yet another example of a video game license being mis-used.
