Review of Silent Hill (2006) by Matthew H — 18 Jun 2013
Visually true to the Silent Hill franchise, but lacking in any real depth or originality. While it contains some decent acting, the story takes a while to really get anywhere, and when it does it's just not very interesting.
There are so many unique ideas in the video games that could have been played with that aren't even brought up. It's not all bad, though. The effects I found to be very well done and kept me immersed in the thick fog of the town.
This movie is only a shell of the greatness of the video games. It looks nice on the outside, but when you crack it open, there's nothing there.
