Review of Silence (2017) by Gaby M — 23 Jan 2017
I left the theater feeling worse than I do after a convicting sermon, due mostly in part to Scorsese's portrayal of Endo's Kijijiro. His running away, time and time again was pathetic, humanizing, and frustration all at the same time.
His labored gait and scurried flees was like a reflection in the mirror. Its easy for the viewer to make demands of the characters, but the whole time Scorsese really had me screaming at myself.
