Review of Silence (2017) by Michael T — 08 Nov 2017
I saw this movie using a free ticket, but how I wish I had stayed home instead. The movie was long and drawn out, and included many graphic torture scenes. While the extreme cruelty certainly allowed the viewer to grasp the horror of violence, I much prefer less time & vivid detail devoted to these scenes. I am capable of understanding extreme brutality without being forcibly submerged into it for prolonged periods of time. I would have walked out had I attended the movie by myself. I am Catholic, yet even with that faith background, I still found it difficult to maintain an interest in this movie.
On the positive side, I thought the acting was excellent.
