Review of Side Effects (2013) by Nick O — 13 Oct 2013
Not since "Looper" have I seen a script so air-tight and bulletproof, and -- paired with Soderbergh's usual flair for muddy, vacuum-sealed directing and an ass-kicking, drop-the-mic performance from the outstanding Rooney Mara -- not even the haywire nature of the third act is enough to derail "Side Effects".
Hell, it might ultimately even make it what it is.
