Review of Sicario (2015) by Paul R — 05 Jan 2017
I'm pleased to report that I've finally watched "Sicario" and it didn't disappoint. It's one hell of a good film and brilliantly made and executed. It has such a tone and feeling that it really makes you feel like you are in this world of drug lords and the best thing I can compare it to is "Seven".
Emily Blunt is fantastic as the agent tasked with bringing down a high profile drug cartel and we see everything through her eyes for the most part.
It's one of the best looking films I have seen, lensed by famed "Skyfall" and "Spectre" cinematographer Roger Deakins. It looks gorgeous and the action sequences are well shot and handled.
It truly is a great film but it misses out on one more star as I was slightly underwhelmed by the ending which I had heard so much about but apart from that this is one of the best thrillers I've seen in quite some time.
