Review of Sicario (2015) by Armchair O — 07 Dec 2018

I had higher expectations for the movie but really found it to be lackluster and underwhelming. Taylor Sheridan did a great job with Hell or High Water but Sicario just felt like 2 hours of mind-numbing gory images, violence, and foul language without an engaging story line nor likeable characters.

The protagonist spends most of the movie looking doe-eyed and useless while other times emotional and distressed. I happen to like Emily Blunt but she was starting to reek of miscast here. Maybe this is just not my type of movie but it was not a tightly wound thriller nor attention-getting.

At the end of it, I did not care what happens to any of the characters.
