Review of Sicario (2015) by Freddie S — 08 Feb 2016
Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners), Sicario is a film that once you see it, I'm not sure if you need to or want to see it again. I'm glad I saw it because the acting was superb, but I couldn't get with the plot and found myself confused and not 100% captivated by the film.
Great acting is always a staple of a good film, and the 3 technical Oscar nominations are well deserved. If the plot had been a little better paced and had it pulled me into the film more, Sicario could have been a top choice for 2015.
It's better than Hitman, but I'd rather run into Timothy Olyphant's character and not deal with the pure fright I'd endure meeting del Toro's Alejandro.
