I had a really had a hard time believing Emily Blunt in this role. In fact I really didn't ever believe it. Del Toro and Brolin nail it though. The rest of it is intense enough to make you forget it though.
As the viewer, you are often in the dark with her character. Sometimes possibly too much as the plot sometimes strays from being as informative as it should. Its main point is reached most effectively and honestly.
Yet another angle to see of the drug war that will never end.
