Review of Sicario (2015) by Farah R — 04 May 2017

I was really looking forward to watching this thriller as I'm a fan of Emily Blunt's work but unfortunately felt it was a bit of a letdown. Sicario is aptly directed and filmed and the story is indeed thought-provoking as well as disturbing.

My only complaint is that Blunt's character was completely useless and her story irrelevant to the plot which resulted in the notion that one is watching two separate movies. One in which Del Toro gives a great performance and the events are tense, the other not nearly as impressive.

So while I can honestly say I was disappointed with this film, there were a few decent scenes that made it worthwhile.
