Review of Shrek the Third (2007) by Daniel V — 17 Jul 2015
The magic of the first two movies is completely absent this time around. Kids will undoubtedly love the adventure aspect of this film but adults will find the cliches and a use of a recycled plot, weary.
This film had so much potential to be as heartfelt as the first two, but the problem was that it lacked urgency. The plot revolves around Shrek trying to find Fiona's cousin, Artie, to rule the kingdom after the frog dies.
Really?? That's the best plot the filmmakers could come up with?? Watching this movie, I didn't really care about Artie's troubles, who they focus on so much in the film. The rest of the characters that I've grown to love are completely underused.
In the end, this is not a film worth remembering.
