Review of Shrek Forever After (2010) by Sherri C — 04 Nov 2012
Grade: D.
Shrek Forever After was just as disappointing and unmemorable as Shrek the Third; it really gives itself a bad name. I saw this at the cinema I just want very impressed. I thought it started off well, but then the story just got lame and boring; this proves how badly the writers have fun out of fresh ideas. I really don't remember very much because the film wasn't very memorable, neither were any of the new characters. I didn't really like Rumplestiltskin, I found him a bit disappointing as a character nor did I like the witches. I just think the new characters don't match up to the ones in Shrek 2. Thank God Shrek the 4th has stopped there; I'd dread to think how awful future sequels would be. My theory is, if you can't think of a good story, dont write one in the first place. There was only one really funny part in the film that had me in stitches, when the weird kid at the birthday party keeps asking Shrek to do the roar, other than that nothing else was memorable.
