Review of Showtime (2002) by Evan D — 26 Feb 2007
Robert De Niro takes a vacation from masterpieces to make mediocre pieces of crap. The film squeezes as much entertainment out of it's brilliant concept as it can. A reality tv show following a detective and a wanna be detective.
Eddie Muprhy has good chemistry with De Niro, but he decided to play his character too insecure, and comes off desperate and unfunny at times. The best scene involves Williams Shatner ironically giving Eddie Murphy acting lessons.
De Niro looks irritated and bored. So are we.
