Review of Showtime (2002) by Andrej L — 03 Jan 2008
De Niro and Eddie are so much better than this. The concept is poor and it's execution not much better.
There are a couple of amusing moments, notably the bizarre scenes with Bill Shatner playing himself where Eddie essentially becomes TJ Hooker's bitch for a couple of scenes. As a parody of the buddy movie genre and reality tv, this flick misses the mark completely.
The guys make it watchable, but that's no excuse for churning out something as mediocre as this.
