Review of Shottas (2002) by Andrew R — 31 Dec 2013
A cinematic masterpiece. Released in limited screenings in 2002, Shottas has emerged the quintessential gangster film of the past decade. The film captures the essence of Kingston, Jamaica as well as Miami, Florida.
The stirring portrayal of Wayne by Spragga Benz rivals Joe Pesci's performance in GoodFellas. With more publicity this film will be mentioned alongside Scarface and the Godfather as one of the definitive movies of the genre.
