"Shotgun Stories" plays out like a Southern Gothic murder ballad. A father's funeral brings new sons dangerously face-to-face with the sons he left behind. The resentment of the abandoned bunch, mixed with small-town boredom, results in a bloodbath between brothers.
Most captivating about this severe tale of rivalry is the quietness surrounding the horrific acts. No big stunts, no special effects... just the silence of one's sins settling in.
