Review of Shortbus (2006) by Masha K — 21 Aug 2008

I have a feeling that anyone who rates this film harshly has never been part of any alternative sex scene (i.e. fetishism, exhibitionism, bondage, or ever gay for that matter). It is all in the eyes, and this film brings out emotions in me that are completely indescribable. I've been part of group sex scenes on and off in my life, and there is something incredibly unique and powerful about them. You can fall in love with someone with just a glance. I've never heard it talked about openly, and I am so glad that this film does.

I found it fascinating that the actors wrote their own storylines, and that they were paired by attraction - not the way they look together on screen, as is the Hollywood standard.

MANY people will hate this film. But I just feel sorry for them.
