Review of Shortbus (2006) by Dan K — 03 Apr 2008
Watching this movie, I knew right away who'd love it and I knew exactly the kind of people who would turn it down. This is a movie that embraces sexual freedom and oddly enough, as it's 2008, some people still have problems with certain words and images and seeing orgies on tv. Cudos for the director for being very in your face and open to experiment with different scenes some may find offensive, or find it very liberating and impressive.
At times I did find JCM and the whole cast was trying to be too ranchy. Could have been toned down for my taste (only to make the characters personalities and stories shine through admist the cum and etc) but then it wouldn't be much of a Shortbus, now would it?
