Came across this in a round about way and was really glad I did. I don't like Steve Martin's stuff, the comedy annoys me - but this isn't really a comedy. Yes Jason Schwarzman's character is funny but that's all.
This is a bittersweet love story and Claire Danes is really convincing. The lighting is another thing altogether. It is a triumph. Always the lead is held in a cocoon of light, emphasising her lonliness.
If you like Lost in Translation you will enjoy this. If you hated LiT then don't bother.
