Review of Shopgirl (2005) by Jer M — 06 Apr 2009
One of the more underrated movies from 2005, up there with THE WEATHER MAN. Steve Martin is an incredible comedic writer and here he lets his gifts lead him into the realm of romantic drama. This is an incredibly tender and insightful film about human relationships.
The ads make this out to be a typical love triangular conflict, but it's much more complicated than that, delving into the roles of intentions and commitment in romantic relationships. Those are two little bitches that can always stand in the way of true feelings.
