Within the first 30 minutes, the choice between the two men is very clear. Jeremy, played by Jason Schwartzman, is just too awkward to be adorable or attractive in any shape, way, or form and Mirabelle's decision to sleep with him is merely out of desperation and loneliness it seems. I like how his character changes and by the end, he IS adorable. I appreciate Steve Martin's serious turn here. It's weird not seeing him doing or saying something ridiculous.
The film's funny at times and it's enjoyable but I wouldn't buy it or anything. Worth a viewing or two.
