Review of Shooter (2009) by Alex R — 17 Sep 2011
Shooter is a pretty good and engaging action film starring Mark Wahlberg. I thought that the film was very entertaining, pulse pounding and action packed. Mark Wahlberg plays a Marine sniper who is double crossed and he must do everything he can to clear his name.
I'm not normally prone to Antoine Fuqua films, and I find him to be quite mediocre as a filmmaker, but Shooter is a pretty good effort. I personally felt that this was a better film than Fuqua's Training Day.
The cast do a fine job at delivering good performances, and the thrills keep coming. Fuqua's directing is pretty good, and he delivers a very entertaining action thriller. There are some good actors on-screen, and they each bring something good to the film.
Wahlberg is in top form, and Shooter is really a cool action film. The film is not the best, but for what it is, the film is a good entertaining action film that delivers enough action to please the viewer.
Antoine Fuqua has made his best film with Shooter. This is definitely one of the better action films to come in recent times. If you like intrigue and conspiracy elements mixed with your action, then look no further than Shooter.
This is a very enjoyable film with plenty of tense, thrilling moments. This definitely one of the best films that Fuqua has made. Wahlberg definitely deliver on-screen, and this is a film not to miss if you're looking for a cool action film.
