Review of Shogun Assassin (1980) by Steve G — 30 Jul 2008
Some very cool and memorable scenes that this movie definitely has is often overshadowed by the bad english dubbing, editing, and complete revision of the music track to sound like the most gloomy horror movie ever filmed.
Definitely worth a watch if you enjoy a bit of old school over-the-top samurai fighting action, but beware of the bad editing, since this essentially combines two entire films together, it makes for a ridiculous, disjointed piece by the end, seeming to just further showce the gore and fights more than anything.
I'm a bit interested to see the original LW&C movies just to see how drastically different the tone is.
