Review of Shinjuku Incident (2009) by Brendan C — 28 May 2010
As much as I'm a fan of Jackie Chan's 80s/early 90s work (I'm not even going to touch the majority of his Hollywood flicks here) I love it almost as much when he plays against type. Crime Story is the perfect example and this is almost as good.
A gritty, thoroughly entertaining drama and depiction of gang life and how people can be caught up in circumstances they never thought possible. Daniel Wu is also great despite an odd Joker-esque makeover halfway through the film.
