Review of Shine a Light (2008) by Scott K — 15 Sep 2008
It's definitely a well-constructed film - the cinematography, editing, etc. are wonderful. the problem is that it's the stones in their current form. the music's just not as sharp as you'd hope for a production of this scale.
while it does a terrific job of documenting the stones' current live show (including the newer songs), it also made me feel that maybe this is a band I don't really need to see live (or pay $200 to do so).
