Review of Shine a Light (2008) by Lawson B — 27 Feb 2009
Look,the Stones are one of my favourite bands of all time and I hate knocking any of their work but I found this sanitised corporate rock. The audience in the small theatre were probably all senators' daughters on the front row and people "with contacts" further back.
I really hate being negative but only Buddy Guy comes across as the real deal. To me the Stones were always for the great unwashed masses - rough and smelling of sex and violence but this is just elitist pretension.
