Review of Shine (1996) by Saivur E — 27 Jan 2011
A wonderful, moving biographical film about pianist David Helfgott. Geoffrey Rush gives, arguably, his greatest screen performance, and Armin Mueller-Stahl is incredible as David's mentally abusive father.
There are many scenes of raw emotional power that truly shook me internally. I cried twice, and I'm not afraid to admit that.
