Review of Shine (1996) by Jared M — 14 Apr 2009
A satisfying drama featuring the world's greatest music ever greated. I didn't care for the sound of the piano playing the pieces, but overall still awesome. It was too bad that a lot of Rachmaninov's 3rd concerto was chopped up to fit the film.
It left me hanging, waiting for more, but given something different. I was also sad that they only used the tail end of the prelude in C sharp minor. It was still very beautiful. I was just absolutely pleased to see some respect given to Rachmaninov's music.
He truly is THE greatest composer to have lived.
