Review of Shine (1996) by Craig H — 30 Mar 2014
This is an excellent movie from start to finish. Tells the story of David Helfgott a child prodigy pianist and His relationship with his overbearing father. With his father rejecting him and the pressures of mastering the hardest ever piece written for piano Rachmaninov Concerto No.
3 shows David having nervous breakdown and developing a mental health illness. However through the love of one women and the power of music helps David to re enter the world and shows his musical gift back to the world.
I think what makes this story so powerful is that the film is based on true events. I recommend watching this film plus the soundtrack is outstanding. (30.03.14).
