Review of Shine (1996) by Mark H — 20 Apr 2009
It's got a somehow slow, weak start, but the film shines thanks to the fantastic moment when young David plays Rachmaninoff's Concert No. 3. From here on, it is up to the great Geoffrey Rush to remind us that there is a terrible price one must pay in order to play grand music.
A sour lesson, but a very touching human story nevertheless.
