Review of Shin Godzilla (2016) by Justin T — 10 Oct 2016
One of the better Godzilla films that I've seen in a long time, and this is coming from a life-long Godzilla fan. There's not much Godzilla, but this film does a great job as keeping him as the focus of the film, all while still giving us what we came to see when he does actually show up.
It's a clever film, that uses Godzilla as a metaphor and homage to things like the Fukushima Radiation, 2011 Tsunami, and of course the bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. It's a fun, fast-paced, Godzilla film that still has enough substance to keep it from just being a mindless monster mashing movie.
