Review of Shin Godzilla (2016) by Ricky G — 21 Oct 2016

Let's talk about Shin Godzilla. This has got to be one of the most disappointing Godzilla films in the 29 films they have made. TOHO lost this round, our American Godzilla may have had its faults but ours was great.

This movie starts out fine, Godzilla is emerging from the water but when we finally see him he isn't fully evolved and it is one of the most ugly creatures I have ever seen, then it begins to evolve and then into the full grown Godzilla.

This movie is in Japanese so you gotta read and that would be fine if this movie had a decent story or decent or interesting characters to listen to. Instead we get a bland and boring set of characters and a basic story that we've seen multiple times in this Godzilla franchise.

The best part of this movie is when Godzilla comes back to the city fully evolved and just destroys everything and that whole attack on the city is incredible then it just turns into a giant snooze fest after that and you're just sitting there reading the subtitles like "please get interesting.

" And it doesn't, the movie turns into this a politically boring movie and it just feels forever. I'm just gonna say this now, it's a spoiler. BE WARNED. By the time they get to Godzilla the fight doesn't last more then about 5 minutes the beat Godzilla that easily and that just makes the grueling boring political movie not worth it.

For a movie that started out fine and got really good to turn into a C-Span movie really is just disappointing.
