Review of She's Out of My League (2010) by Banane D — 16 Oct 2010
People loved 'The Hangover', but I thought it a nasty film full of tossers. This in comparisioon is charming and funny.
It's geek falling for goddess in an opposites-attract comedy. The gross-out comedy gags aren't that amusing. Of greater interest and entertainment is the exploration of the psychology of physically mismatched relationships.
Both leads have charm, especially Baruchel, who mixes the appeal of a young Christian Slater with an awkward gait and a hangdog expression.
Itâ??s funny in parts: with Disney parallels; the Hall and Oates tribute band; the bowling mash-up; and assessment of Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy's relationship.
