Review of She's Out of My League (2010) by Greg P — 11 Dec 2011
I thought this movie was hilarious. There are some really great lines and jokes throughout. The movie features a story that's been around for a long time and will be around for a long time to come.
It's about a seemingly ordinary guy getting the "Fantastic, perfect 10" girl that is way out of his league. One reason this kind of story works is because it makes regular guys like myself believe, even if just for a couple of hours, that this possiblity is out there for me.
But movies really are a way for us to escape from reality, right? The acting here is pretty good. Baruchel turns in his normal performance. The supporting cast is a strong one. Some of these actors, like the always hilarious Andrew Daly, are a bit underused but all of the characters have something to offer.
Lastly, we have Alice Eve. Now, admittedly, I wasn't too impressed with her from the previews. I thought she was pretty but nothing special. My opinion of her shot up incredibly after watching this movie.
Alice is absolutely gorgeous. She also comes across as very down to Earth and being an approachable person that I could have a conversation with in real life. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing a lot more of her.
