Review of She's Having a Baby (1988) by Steven L — 07 Aug 2009
I finally watched this movie all the way through. For years I had only seen bits and pieces of it. Well, I rented it through iTunes today and watched it. It's an okay movie. I will point out that a movie called "She's Having a Baby" I thought would have more to do with someone having a baby. The entire movie is about how a man sees married life. Then after about 80 minutes or so the wife (played by Elizabeth McGovern) gets pregnant, goes through a 3 minute montage of the pregnancy and then within 15 minutes of the announcement of the pregnancy she is in the hospital giving birth.
Overall, it sure didn't feel like a John Hughes movie, definitely a different road for him. It's an adult film with major adult tones, which is fine. But, it's just not a movie for me. I'm not going to bash it, but I don't see myself watching this movie again in the future.
