Review of She's All That (1999) by Ali J — 26 Aug 2008
A just about passable teen flick, which was watchable only because I had switched my brain off and was supping a lovely glass of Dry Riesling. Based (oh, so loosely) on Pygmalion (apparently), it tells the tale of the most popular guy in school who gets dumped by the most popular girl (Class A bitch) and for a bet decides to woo 'plain Jane' character, who by an amazing coincidence under her dungerees and glasses is every so pretty and really deep (man).
Hmm, nowhere near as enjoyable as millions of other high school teen flicks (and oh god I have seen a lot) but still left me wishing I had spent my formative years in a Californian high school, as opposed to an all girl's establishment in Essex! Ho hum.
Good sideburn rating: 0/10 Far too squeaky clean this lot - not a whisker to be seen. Presence of sartorially elegant men: 1/10 One mark for a couple of nice prom tuxedos, but masses of marks lots for plentiful sports wear.
