You get the point her life is fucked up, you feel her frustrations, and on that level Maggie Gyllenhaal has done a good job.
However it doesn't really take you anywhere until the final 5 minutes, it just plods along through day after day of her terrible life. But then maybe that's the point?
I like happy movies, I can appreciate a dirty realism if it tells me something, but this told me very little. A shame because I'm a huge Maggie Gyllenhaal fan and she can really shine in a great film.
