Review of Sherrybaby (2006) by Sherae H — 09 Feb 2008
One thing that I loved about this movie was that though you knew it was a movie, it seemed so realistic.
Maggie only had about four costumes that they mixed and matched throughout the movie. She only wore two pairs of shoes. It really made you feel her desperation.
You really want Sherry to succeed and overcome her obstacles, but like her parole officer tells her. "You want the reward, but you don't want to do the work.".
In her desperation she cannot see that her efforts are misaimed and unseen as she still struggles with the underlying problems that helped to shape her life into what it currently is.
I give this movie three stars. I felt there were too many things left unsaid and unresolved. Though that is realistic, it doesn't make for the best plot-line.
