Review of Sherlock Jr. (1924) by Dave D — 21 Jun 2007
Hands down, the funniest film I have ever seen, and it doesn't even have sound! The film relies entirely on sight gags, and each is completely brilliant. It takes a ridiculous James Bond-esque turn, and features some effects that are better executed than those in most films of today.
I'd hate to sound like an old-timey asshole, but they don't make films like this these days. Highly recommended to anyone who appreciates cinema, and has ever laughed. Move over Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton is the TRUE king of silent-era comedy.
