Review of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011) by Todd S — 14 Jan 2013
The film opens kind of slow but strangely feels like an old, London, Casino Royale...right after the intense chase through the forest the final 30+ minutes are the most intense part of anything I've seen in a long time.
As Sherlock and Moriarity face off in a literal battle of wits and Watson tries to stop an assassination I really don't remember blinking...in fact I was told my eyes were bloodshot after. There are a few dull moments and a fight scene during a bachelor party is messy and surprisingly boring but its much more fun than the first and Steven Fry as Prof.
Moriarity (holmes arch nemesis) is so intense and fun to watch....I'd recommend seeing the first again since he is hinted at but never seen...and a couple secondary characters return. I'm still loving the end and can't wait to see it again.
