Review of Sherlock Holmes (2009) by Ivant. — 29 Dec 2009
As anyone could tell from the previews, Doyle's Holmes is only a distant ancestor of this portrayal of the London detective. A fun film that is intended to mesmerize the audience with a steady stream of witty dialogue, clever mystery, and thrilling action.
Small wonder the critics don't approve. As blockbusters go, this one's worth its weight. Best viewed in the cinema, once.
