I normally would never give a gay movie 5 stars - they're usually just not "that" type of movie. But "Shelter" is one of the most fantastic movies I have seen in a long time - "gay" or otherwise.
The acting and the film go for quiet realism over crass exploitation and at its heart is the story of an uncle's love for his nephew and the wonderful things that come along with it.
Loved every minute of it.
