Review of Shelter (2007) by Ezra M — 01 Oct 2011
To find "Shelter" means finding love or someone to take care of you. One of the most romantic gay movies I've seen. Mind you, not that it's erotic ore sexual but it's real. The coming of age story of Zach, splendid Trevor Wright, is genuine.
Brad Rowe as Shaun, the object of his desire, might be too perfect a character to be believable; the role is written like an angel. However, Zach's relationship with his sister Jeannie (fine Tina Holmes) is real and Jackson Wurth who plays her son Cody is probably the best actor here.
Filmed in San Pedro, CA, the movie has excellent scenes of surfing and skateboarding which adds to the story. Very touching, believable, genuine, and emotional movie.
