She Said is a sturdy journalism drama that gets a lot of the genre’s broad stokes correct while missing some elements that elevate the best ones. But its story is well told and it was fascinating to see the stages of how a story gets broken at the New York Times.
I am much more respectful of journalists after seeing the movie; you have to be passionate, relentless, fearless, and intelligent to do the job well and the characters in this movie (and real life) are all of those things.
They truly started a movement with this story and I think it’s a worthy thing to document with film.
