A dark and gleeful revenge saga set in a world of unfaithful husbands and unfair standards of beauty, She-Devil offers a unique heroine in Ruth Patchett (Roseanne Barr), a dumpy but dedicated housewife afflicted with a conspicuous facial mole and an uninterested husband (Ed Begley Jr). A flop at the time of it's release, but actually a decent and funny female revenge fantasy from the seriously underrated director Susan Seidelman. The result becoming her most comical and biting satire ever with 1989's "She-Devil" starring Roseanne Barr and (amazingly) the 'Oscar Queen' herself, Meryl Streep. The film is like a very funny 'Lifetime Network Movie' flipped on it's head and gone horribly right. The heart of the movie involves the revenge that Ruth takes out on her husband and Mary Fisher - revenge so thorough and methodical that she even takes time to jot down the areas of her husband's life she wants to destroy: first, his home; then his family, career and freedom, in that order. Just as big of a surprise that Streep and Barr are working together, is the fact that this is mildly entertaining.

VERDICT: "In The Zone" - [Mixed Reaction] These kinds of movies are usually movies that had some good things, but some bad things kept it from being amazing. This rating says buy an ex-rental or a cheap price of the DVD to own. If you consider cinema, ask for people's opinion on the film. (Films that are rated 2.5 or 3 stars).
