Review of Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015) by James R — 15 Jan 2016
Another solid Aardman Animations film. Shaun the Sheep is very lighthearted and I would say any fan of stop animation or claymation will enjoy this one. Not to mention if you've ever taken a liking to Chicken Run (2000) or Wallace and Gromit there's something here that you'll like.
The movie follows Shaun the sheep who after day after day of the same thing he believes its time for him and the other sheep to have a day off. On accident they get rid of the Farmer that takes care of him and his trailer is whisked away to the big city.
It's up to Shaun and the Sheep to travel to the city and find out where Farmer is and bring him home. The stop animation is fantastic as it always is in Aardman films. I enjoyed the warmth of the film and the overall meaning it brings by the end of the film.
I'd say the pacing is well done, but at times it slogs just slightly too much for me (especially early on). Overall, though I highly recommend giving this one a look!
