Absolutely one of best performances by Hayden Christiansen. The writing is on the spot and the directing is absolutely marvelous. There's a lot of ways this movie could flop especially with such an unlikeable main character.
However, all the elements from the acting, to the directing, to the writing fit in together to make a very powerful experience. This is one of the finest modern dramas I've ever seen.
