THIS was a real showcase of Hayden's talent. Every time I hear someone belittle his acting in Star Wars or Jumper I point them here. 'But look! He can act, he just needs the right story!' And this was definitely it.

I was drawn to this movie, first because he was in it (I believed in him during the Star Wars hype, I knew he could do it), and also because it's about journalism, the immense responsibility they have to the truth, and how easy it is to make the public believe pure fiction. It's a very scary prospect, and I would classify this film as a thriller because of it - how do we know that anything we read in a newspaper, magazine or journal is actually true? How do we know that they didn't just make it up to sell copy? The fact that this is based on a true story makes it that much more frightening. Someone DID.

The portrayal of the guilt-ridden and ultimately defamed Stephen Glass was phenomenal. I really felt the emotions from that role and how trapped and hopeless he felt, and how he went on manipulating to the very end, still unable to admit the truth. The supporting cast was well done, and I felt as if I wasn't so much watching a movie as eavesdropping on staff meetings and personal crises.

A+ movie, I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good story.
