Review of Sharktopus (2010) by Martin B — 30 Dec 2011
The ideas in the genre 'Angry Fish' is thinning out. All that is left is hybrid creations. Is that so?
Yes.
But it should not have to be that way really. It's not the budget that is the problem. It's not the crappy actors who spoil the day (One confused Eric Roberts on the rebound from rehab is still like 1000% more of acting material than any of the other actors in this one) It's not those facts. It's about giving up. To not even try to make a movie whatever small odds you actually have in suceeding in making some sort of movie here.
Just beneath "Crap"is the perfect position from where to start from the beginning again. Finding out what moviemaking is all about. Ideas, The Uncommon, The Odd, The interesting. Even in a Sci-Fi shark movie straight to DVD and Cable.
Apart from that we have a animated angry Squid/Shark who eats stupid people and a madhousely bad ending as always in these late shark frenzy movies. It always kind of work when watching irresponsible drunk.
